Ceiling Fan Light Connection

Connect the red wire in the ceiling to the black wire in the light kit and the black wire in the ceiling to the black wire in the fan.
Ceiling fan light connection. The basic idea is that your power supply line is feeding both switches. From the switches 3 wire cable runs to the ceiling outlet box. Each switch then feeds either the fan black wire or light kit blue wire. Connect the white wire coming out of your ceiling to the white wire coming out of the top of the fan.
After hooking up all the wires tuck them back in the bracket and put the faceplate up. All that s left at this point is to tie together all the ground wires and neutral wires respectively. This wiring diagram illustrates the connections for a ceiling fan and light with two switches a speed controller for the fan and a dimmer for the lights. Connect your white wires together and secure with wire nut.
Tuck the wires back into the box. If your device does not have lights the same step applies. You can also connect the blue wires or the blue to the black wire. Connecting the neutral wires will complete the circuit in your fan.
When completing your 4 wire ceiling fan switch wiring remember to connect the black wire to the unit s black and blue wires. You may want to wear thick gloves to prevent yourself from getting cut on the copper. Turn the power back on and test the fan.
